Prothioconazole is presently the safest triazolethione fungicide with the broadest fungicidal spectrum, and is most effective against wheat scab. It is also used in the prevention and control of wheat sheath blight, rust disease, powdery mildew and root rot, while being capable of promoting the growth of wheat.
As China's first group of manufacturers being awarded registrations for prothioconazole technical and formulation, Hailir's wholly-owned subsidiary, Qingdao Audis Biotech, has launched its prothioconazole+carbendazim mixture product – Liangjie, as registered for the control of wheat scab. This is the first-time launch of such a product, which is expected to fill the gap in the control of wheat scab.
Liangjie contains the rationed mixing of prothioconazole with carbendazim in proper proportions, which results in a synergistic effect to the benefit of controlling diseases and increases in yields. Its systemicity means it is both preventive and curative, where germs cannot become resistant. Liangjie is a suspending agent, with nanoscale particle sizes. After application, wheat husk and ear are fully contacted with the liquid of the Liangjie, and are fully protected by Liangjie. The liquid of Liangjie is distributed evenly on the foliage and is strong enough to resist rain wash. It is suitable for application by a variety of mechanical spraying, such as large machines and UAV applications.
After use of Liangjie, wheat is protected in advance against damage, and wheat ear develops into a healthy crop. In the meantime, the use of the product will enhance wheat's stress resistance, promote wheat growth and improve wheat quality, to create higher economic value.
